Internal webinar on soil health indicators & soil improvers
On 11th of April 2025 there will be the internal workshop on ‘Soil Health Indicators & Soil Improvers’ organized by Delisoil, Waste4fSoil and Bin2Bean projects. The main focus will be soil improvers from circular bioeconomy solutions
Tomorrow, April 11th, the joint internal workshop on ‘Soil Health Indicators & Soil Improvers’ will be held. The main focus is soil improvers from circular bioeconomy solutions including recycled organic fertilizer products
The workshop is organized by DeliSoil (Delivering safe, sustainable, tailored and societally accepted soil improvers from circular food production processes for boosting soil health), Waste4Soil (Turning food waste into sustainable soil improvers for better soil health and improved food systems), and Bin2Bean (Boosting the market deployment of safe, effective and sustainable innovations for soil improvement from bio-waste, towards regenerative soil systems) projects.
The event is organized in three sessions:
Session 1: Challenges, Problems, Needs, which will feature 5 presentations on challenges related to products, on-farm conditions, and Living Labs;
Session 2: Existing Related Protocols and Indicators, covering 5 presentations on existing protocols and indicators such as the Soil Health Law, EUSO, and Fertilizer products;
Session 3: Solutions, a group discussion addressing topics like the challenges posed by soil improvers to soil health indicators, the usefulness of EUSO indicators for evaluating these effects, and the need for additional information on suitable indicators for soils with amendments.
Other discussion points will include the standardization of field methods for measuring soil health and the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in developing non-destructive methods for field-based measurements.
The event will conclude with a final 20-minute discussion summarizing the main conclusions with the aim of an engaging and productive discussion that will further advance understanding of soil health and the role of soil improvers.
ENEA, partnerof DELISOIL, will participate with Annamaria Bevivino (WP2 Leader)' presentation titled "Soil health indicators across the EU projects: the DELISOIL’s activity for soil health measurement".
