The goal of this workshop is to show the results of IDEM project to a wide audience, including representative from projects involved in the implementation of MSFD and have a face-to-face with stakeholders and policy makers.
The IDEM project (“Implementation of the MSFD to the Deep Mediterranean Sea”) aims at the implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) to the deep Mediterranean Sea (i.e. below 200 m of depth). The project is coordinated by the Polytechnic University of Marche (Italy) with the involvement of institutional partners of the Mediterranean area from EU and non-EU countries (8 EU partners: UNIVPM, CNR, CSIC, DFMR, ENEA, IFREMER, UB, UM and the University of Tel-Aviv – Israel- as non EU member). The two-years project IDEM (started in 2017 April, the 1st) has been funded by DG Environment of the European Commission through the call “Implementation Of The Second Cycle Of The Marine Strategy Framework Directive: Achieving Coherent, Coordinated And Consistent Updates Of The Determinations Of Good Environmental Status, Initial Assessments And Environmental Targets”. The project website www.msfd-idem.eu provides information on the specific objectives, the expected results and the initiatives for stakeholders’ involvement. A dedicated newsletter is also available on the
website. For further information: idemproject@univpm.it
