Abstract | The electrochemical characterization of hexa(phenyl)benzene (HPB) used as a novel advanced anode in lithium-ion cells was investigated. It was observed that no fall in capacity was found for the HPB material which makes it unique, and high performance electrode. The cell cycles with excellent reversibility and the single HPB anode and LiMn2O4 cathode responses evolved along the voltage profiles. It was found that the performance of the cell was further enhanced by optimizing the anode-to-cathode balance and by moving from a three-electrode laboratory cell configuration to a more practical laminated cell geometry. |
